POLICIES FOR RENTAL AND USE OF THE FACILITIES OF

THE CUMBERLAND PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

"Freely you have received, freely give."  Matthew 10:8

"Give to him that asks of thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away." Matthew 5:42

"My house will be a house for all people.: Isaiah 56:6

It is our sacred trust as stewards of God's gifts to take care and preserve, but also to share those gifts.  Requests to use the facilities shall be considered without regard to race, color, creed, or religion.

HUTCHINS HALL:

Hutchins Hall will be rented to non-profit, religious, civic, or educational groups, in addition to its use by church members, for such purposes as approved by the Diaconate.

Recreational league activities, requiring usage over an extended time, can interfere with the planning and use of Hutchins Hall by members and other groups, and require spectator accommodations beyond that available in Hutchins Hall.  Therefore, recreational uses will be approved only for church leagues and only upon the request of the Recreation Committee.

The following factors should be weighed when considering the use of Hutchins Hall for athletic or other activities:

a.  Safety of the participants and spectators.

b.  Adequacy of restroom, locker-room , and spectator facilities.

c.  Adequate time for setting up and tearing down, to insure no conflict with other church functions.

PARLOR AND NARTHEX:

The parlor and narthex shall not be rented for non-member wedding receptions.  Members may use the parlor and narthex for a reception if the group is estimated to be fewer than 50.
