We need your empty 20oz soda bottles
Our youth are starting something new that will raise money and help the environment at the same time. Believe it or not there is a company that will pay us 5 cents for every 20 oz soft drink bottle (no water bottles unfortunately) and use them to sell their worm manure to gardeners around the country. They send us pre-paid shipping boxes too. Help us raise money and do something profitable with our trash. Just bring your bottles to the church and we will process them. We are sending off the first box today. For more information on this product and the incredible way it works check out their website at www.terracycle.net |

Our own Rose Mary Magrill was named Co-Moderator of the 177th General Assembly in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Co-moderator Frank Ward made the motion for this first-time occurrence of two moderators serving together. As explained Monday, whoever is chairing the meeting will have moderator duties and say-so over proceedings. Frank Ward is known to many as the denomination’s youth staff person who plans CPYC and Triennium. Both are talented people and we are fortunate to have them lead and serve us this year. Keep Rose Mary and the General Assembly in your prayers this week. They have many important, even denomination changing decisions, to oversee.
On Monday, several from our church joined Rose Mary’s brother Richard and nominating speech maker, Rev. James Gilbert, to celebrate this special day in her life. Our church presented Rose Mary with an arrangement of Yellow Roses to remember the occasion. Michael Cucinotta, Shirley Jones, Dolores Rustenhaven, Mary Jo Schnorbus, Jewell Bogue, Lynn Skinner, Jenann Leslie along with Pastor Rusty cheered Rose Mary on before and after the election. Below is a picture. |

Good sitters for adult family and friends are difficult to find and find available. One such sitter who has helped several families in our church is now available. If you would like to call me and get more information, I would be glad to talk with you about her. Pastor Rusty |

Calendar Online
New! New! New! We have an all new online calendar that you can access 24/7. All you have to do is click on the link below called “MyChurchEvents”. (This will remain in the signature part of each e-mail that we send from here for easier access.) Also, we have links on the website too, in case you forget. Try some of the following:
1. See the scrolling events at the top of the page, where it highlights this week’s upcoming events.
2. Click on an event on any date and see more information about it. (for example, click on “Graduate Sunday” and see those graduates we know about already).
3. On this greater detail page, you can forward this event to a friend’s e-mail to make sure they know about it.
4. Or you can send yourself an e-mail reminder as many days ahead as you would like.
5. You can click on Today’s events and see a listing of those. The same is true for this week and this month.
We are still learning how to use it and all its features. We think it will be a great addition to our other means of communication with our people: newsletter, announcements, website, e-news, newspaper articles, radio broadcast, advertisements, displays, letters, calls and visits. We realize that we are in the good news business. This calendar is just one more way to get the word out and make sure that we do not miss any of the opportunities God provides for us through this church family. A special thanks to Carolyn Snow and Mary Kathryn Kirkpatrick for entering the data and helping us get started.
