BRAVO TO WOMEN'S MINISTRY We applaud all women of our church who participated in Women's Ministry Sunday September 20. We especially want to thank Jewell Bogue, president, and our guest speaker Rev. Cardelia Howell-Diamond. Highlights of the service were the presentation of the 1985 CPW Quilt to Jewell Bogue by Mary Jo Schnorbus, and presentation of a Golden Patron Membership to Elsie Pugh by Lynn Skinner and Nancy Green. The quilt originated with the Gladys Bryson Circle and had the names of 55 women embroidered on it. Mary Jo acquired it in 1985 and is giving it back to Women's Ministry, in memory/honor of all names on the quilt. The Golden Patron Membership represents a contribution of $150.00 to the denominational Missions Endowment Fund and is for women who have served the Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 50 years. Elsie has served as pianist for all 50 years. She is an ordained elder, served on Worship Committee, and was a charter member of Bunnie Mae Pugh Circle, which she helped organize. We were once again reminded of how much work is done by women of our church, and we say a great big THANK YOU! |
