Women’s Ministry
The Trinity North Region Meeting on Saturday had 52 women present, from Longview First, Pine Tree, Elmira Chapel, Daingerfield, Jefferson, and Marshall Churches. There were 23 present from Marshall - a great representation. A special thanks to Shirley Jones who was in charge of the food, to Lynn Skinner who is President- Elect of the Regional WMCPC, to Sherry Burke who arranged the style show, and to the Executive Committee headed by Melissa Wilson who put it all together. The highlight of the meeting was the presentation of Pam Phillips-Burk, director of Women's Ministry for the denominational Board of Missions.
Women's Ministry Sunday reminded us once again of the tremendous contribution that women make to the ministry of our church. Our appreciation to Rev. Dr. Pam Phillips-Burk, who preached, and to all who helped plan and were a part of the very meaningful worship service.

We are a Connectional Church |
|
Each individual congregation in the Presbyterian system of government belongs to a regional group of churches. This regional group of churches is called a Presbytery. Ministers and representative elders from each congregation gather to decide how we can serve God better by working together. Ministers are not local members of a congregation. They belong to the Presbytery. Each congregation is led by elders (presbyturos in Greek) who are elected by the congregation as representatives of the people. We can do more together, with accountability to one another, than we would ever be able to do alone. |
