WOMEN'S MINISTRY

Six of us - LeIla Dixon, Jenann Leslie, Jewell Bogue, Shirley Jones, Lynn Skinner, and Mary Jo Schnorbus - traveled to Pine Hill CP Church on Saturday, March 6 for the Trinity North Region Women's Ministry spring meeting.  The church is in a beautiful setting, a typical "little church in the vale" except it is white instead of brown, with an immaculate cemetery and clumps of daffodils blooming all around.  It was a delightful day for the 20 women in attendance from Pine Tree, Elmira Chapel, Longview First, Marshall, and Pine Hill CP Churches.

Lynn Skinner did a great job presiding for the last time as president, and Shirley Jones read her last minutes.  New officers elected were Marcia Ross, Pine Tree, president; Jane Hart, Longview First - president elect; Pat Terrell, Elmira Chapel, recording secretary; Helen Nunn, Pine Tree, treasurer; and Pat Odom, Marshall, historian.  Highlight of the meeting was a very dynamic and enthusiastic speaker, Rev.  Jennene Laurinec, Episcopal Priest and Director of Newgate Mission in Longview.  The Mission's primary concern is to feed people, but they also provide other services for the homeless.  It was a memorable day at Pine Hill, and we praise God for the opportunity to share with our sisters in Christ.
