Cumberland Presbyterian Basics—For Adults

Sundays at 9:45 a.m. in the Parlor

Began October 11

Do you ever have questions about religion?   It is important to know what you believe.  Do you know what to say if someone asks you what it takes to be a Christian, what the difference is between Cumberland Presbyterians and other Presbyterians (or other denominations, for that matter), or why we baptize the way we do, or what some of the churchy, theological words mean?  Pastor Rusty will lead a time of discussion and study each Sunday at 9:45 a.m. in the Parlor (near the sanctuary).  Whether you are new to our church or have been here for a while, we invite you and your friends to come.

Text Box: New Sunday School Class
for 18-36 Month Old Children
Starting September 13, Nancy Heath will be teaching our youngest members. The class named Climbers will be held in the nursery. It will be taught one-on-one in short segments throughout the hour, so wiggling and short attention spans won’t hamper the learning. Thank you, Nancy, for your willingness to serve our young families.

SUNDAY SCHOOL MATTER

KERYGMA CLASS , which meets at 9:30 a.m. in the conference room, is beginning a new study today on Christian beliefs and theology.  The study guide is a book written by Luke Timothy Johnson entitled The Creed, What Christians Believe and Why It Matters. The book is based on the ancient Nicene Creed which we sometimes use in worship as an affirmation of faith. We invite anyone interested in an in-depth study of Christian beliefs to join us.
