Next to the offices, Hutchins Hall is the most used area in the building. It is truly multi-functional, being used for fellowship events, meetings, recreational activities, wedding receptions, reunions, etc. It is a place that a lot of people get their first impression of our church—and sometimes their only impression. Events such as Walk to Bethlehem, Sonshiners, & wedding receptions draw people from the community who do not visit our church on other occasions. The floor has received a lot of wear and tear through these twenty-plus years, use that has resulted in numerous cracks, buckling, seams that do not meet, and scuff marks that cannot be removed. The flooring is not repairable and it will become a safety hazard. One of the projects in the Capital Improvements Campaign is to replace the flooring in Hutchins Hall with wood grained laminate, replace the tile in the kitchen, and paint Hutchins Hall at a cost of approximately $40,000. |
